The Literacy Council of Reading-Berks is hosting RFinances personal finance workshop series “You and Your Money.” Workshops will be held each Tuesday in October from 7 to 8 p.m. at the council, 35 S. Dwight St., West Lawn.
These workshops are free and open to the public. They cover topics such as budgeting, debt and investing.

A Returning Citizens Career Fair at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading, hosted by Berks Connections/Pretrial Services, is scheduled for Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The career fair is open to anyone who is on probation, parole, or has past involvement in the criminal justice or domestic relations systems. More than 40 area employers will be in attendance to offer second-chance employment opportunities.

Theology with a Twist
Theology with a Twist returns Tuesday and will take place the first Tuesday of each month upstairs at the Kutztown Tavern, 272 W. Main St., at 7 p.m. The event is free. Food and drinks can be purchased in the restaurant before the event begins.
Tuesday’s speaker is Dr. Greg Carey, a professor at Lancaster Theological Seminary, discussing his views on the dangers of Christian nationalism.
Supreme Court talk
On Tuesday, October 4th at 6 PM, The Wyomissing Public Library will offer a free public program, “SCOTUS & You,” Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Attorney F. Donald Smith will discuss the U.S. Supreme Court decisions of the 2021-22 term and how those decisions impact our daily lives. Smith will talk about the evolution of the court and how it operates.

Local performers will team up for the annual Alisa B. Memorial Funk Fest Friday at 8 p.m. at the Goodwill Beneficial Association Ballroom, 100 Madison Ave., Hyde Park.
